Designer Christian Ghion's Alice kitchen is filled with subtle, studied touches that simultaneously soften and enhance the cabinetry. The legs, most obviously, which are also found on coordinating casegoods and coffee tables; the graceful, outward curve of the top drawers, which works to expand the counter surface; the asymmetrical composition of the island unit. Even the not-grey color is a hue that holds out some promise.
